Model WL - Wide Area
Wide Area poles are formed of high strength (50 KSI) American made steel in a continuous taper without horizontal splice welds. Heights to 40 ft. are built in one piece. Higher poles are joined by telescoping on the job site. These octagonal shafts provide extra strength and less deflection in situations calling for higher luminaire heights. Typical applications are shopping centers, recreation areas, parking lots, industrial parks, office complexes, storage yards and airport loading areas and docks. Shaft Material: American made high-strength carbon steel. Minimum yield strength 50 KSI. Finishes Available: Prime paint or self-weathering steel. Galvanized or factory paint at extra cost.

Notes: The WideArea series shaft sections are fabricated of one piece high strength octagonal formed American made steel with one vertical seam weld. Engineered with a choice of two useful strengths, four base styles, four finishes and a wide variety of luminaire brackets. Shaft Material: American made high-strength carbon steel. Minimum yield strength 50 KSI. Finishes Available: Prime paint or self-weathering steel. Galvanized or factory paint at extra cost. Slipfitter Tenon: Fabricated from 2" pipe. (2 3/8" O.D. x 6" long is standard.) Anchor Bolts: High strength steel, 115 KSI minimum yield. The pole shaft, base and anchor bolts are designed as a structural unit. Substituting anchor bolts by others is not recommended and voids our structural guarantee. Grouting the void between the pole base and the foundation is NOT recommended. Max EPA: Wind loading plays an important part in the selection of the pole. EPA (Effective Projected Area) is available from the fixture manufacturer. For EPA limits for winds greater than 100 MPH total (30 Ibs. per sq. foot), please consult Millerbernd.
