* Weight does not include anchor bolts. The Classic Traffic Signal Pole is designed to fully comply with AASHTO requirements. The vertical post and mastarm are constructed of high-strength ASTM-A572 or A607 carbon steel (A588 or A606 if self-weathering steel) with a minimum 50,000 PSI yield strength. Each vertical post and mastarm is individually calculated by Millerbernd engineers to support the precise load it must carry in the exact wind velocity specified and is carefully fabricated by welders certified to the American Welding Societys rigorous standards. The signal mastarm can is slipped over the vertical post to form an 18 long octagonal friction slipfit. The mastarm is then secured in place using an internal 5/8 x 13 long drawdown bolt through internal brackets. These brackets are securely welded inside the mastarm and the vertical post. The Classic signal pole offers a rotatable H Base as a standard feature on lighter duty signal poles. This specialized base allows the post and mastarm to be easily rotated out of the way if it is necessary to move large loads through the intersection. The luminaire extension is mounted on a rotatable gimbal mount which allows the luminaire arm to be set at any desired angle for lighting purposes. Optional Vertical Post Bases:
